Benefits of Massage and Bodywork

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork are also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Therapeutic Massage

Rediscover balance, flexibility, and contentedness in your life.   Experience counts when it comes to having a therapist who can read your body and respond to its specific needs with  a unique blend of techniques and with a range of pressure that is neither to deep nor too superficial.

Couples Massage

This is a wonderful opportunity to share the gift of rejuvenation with someone special.  “Couples” may include married couples, mother-daughter, BFF’s; anyone who wishes to share the experience of massage together at the same time and in the same room.

Reflexology

Alone, or as part of a therapeutic massage, reflexology pays attention to your neglected feet while benefiting the whole mind and body. Reflexology is a practice which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs, and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way.

Pregnancy massage

Pregnancy places special demands on a woman’s body, mind, and spirit, and calls for specific massage solutions.  Massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax the nervous tension -- which aids in better sleep -- and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Steam Treatment

Since ancient times, steam therapy has been used by traditional healing systems around the world to improve and maintain good health and beauty. Turkish baths, Indian sweat lodges, Finnish saunas, Japanese steam rooms-these are just a few examples of cultures that harness the power of steam. Even Hippocrates recognized that by creating an 'artificial fever' (which is what happens during a Steamy Wonder Spa™ treatment) he could cure many illnesses. Steam can be combined with aromatherapy and/or clay applications for detoxifying and rejuvenating effects. Our steam canopy fits right over the table, allowing your head and face to be out of the direct steam so you remain comfortable.  This treatment is great by itself or as a part of a longer massage session.

Chair massage

Massage of the neck, shoulders, arms, and back can be accomplished in a safe, fully-clothed setting.  This is a great introduction to massage; a quick fix within a busy schedule. We are also available by appointment to bring our chairs to your corporate location, private function, or public event.

Rossiter workout

The Rossiter System is a two person pin-and-stretch release technique that quickly restores connective tissue to its natural, healthy tone. Strategic anchoring of tissue with the practitioner’s foot, while the client executes specific motions, delivers more extensive and longer lasting results. Rossiter workouts are done with the client fully clothed on a mat on the floor. The client is fully in charge of the session, and results are generally instantaneous and profound.

Stretching

Create some space in your life, and then occupy it fully.  Stretching is an important part of massage as well as self-care between massages.

Shiatsu/acupressure

Shiatsu involves varied, rhythmic pressure on acupressure points.  Shiatsu is Japanese for “finger pressure”.   We also address acupressure points using sound vibration created by tuning forks.  (See: Sound Therapy).

Sports Massage

Athletics places stress on the human body; massage helps to manage the excesses.  We work with athletes of all levels between events to balance strength with flexibility, and to aid recovery.  We also provide warm-up and recovery massage during events such as the Andrew Jackson Marathon.

AROMATHERAPY

AromaTouch Technique®

The dōTERRA AromaTouch Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help balance sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems of the body.  The AromaTouch Technique includes four primary steps designed to minimize systematic stressors to autonomic balance. Each step includes the application of two essential oils or essential oil blends specifically formulated to support healthy emotional and physiological functions for well-being. This technique can be applied alone or can be incorporated into a full body massage for the best effect.

LED LIGHT THERAPY

Why light?

Before the time of rubber soled shoes and concrete dwellings, we were more connected to our natural environment, including light. What we perceive as light is a form of energy that behaves both as a wave and a stream of particles called photons. These tiny packets of energy have been shown in clinical studies to increase energy; stimulate collagen, ATP and nitric oxide; reduce pain and inflammation; and reduce stress.

What is light therapy?

Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) are a form of light energy that is a relatively recent outgrowth from the laser industry. LED’s disperses light (red, blue or infrared) over a greater surface area than lasers do.  LED light is a safe, noninvasive way to ‘enlighten’ cells.

SOUND THERAPY

Energy Vitality Technique

Reconnect with your inner energy potential using the ancient Solfeggio frequencies of these high quality tuning forks.  We use the vibration of the tuning forks above or on your body to balance and connect your chakras (energy centers,) and to bring matching frequencies to specific areas of the body.  EVT can be included in your massage, Reiki, or PSYCH-K session, or can be requested as a stand-alone experience. This is a very relaxing yet energizing way to end a massage.

REIKI

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on of hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

PSYCH-K®

PSYCH-K®

PSYCH-K® is a set of simple, self-empowering techniques to change the beliefs and perceptions that impact your life at a cellular level.  Originated in 1988, PSYCH-K® directly facilitates communication between the conscious and subconscious portions of the mind. It also includes processes to increase the “cross talk” between the two brain hemispheres resulting in a “whole-brain” state, dramatically reducing the resistance to changing outdated subconscious programs. PSYCH-K® facilitates an expansion out of subconscious limitations and into self-enhancing responses.
